This year the City of Santa Clarita Public Library invites you to join us in an epic quest to read Ernest Cline’s novel Ready Player One. This selection is a departure from what has been selected in years past, but we are positive it will capture our community’s collective interest and span across all generations. The novel is set in the year 2045, teenage Wade Watts, escapes his reality by being plugged into the virtual utopia known as the OASIS. As The City of Santa Clarita reads the novel together, we will enjoy Wade’s journey through a virtual world full of 80s and early 90s nostalgia, gaming and pop culture. The experience will rekindle your love for that time and introduce what was awesome about the 80s and early 90s to a new generation. Please join us to read, discuss and interact with each other over a story that is out of the virtual world.
